Seeds of nature at El Cantalar Ecotourism Centre and Nature Classroom
The origins of the city go back to Prehistory. It was the Ibera city of Tucci, and in Roman times the Colonia Augusta Gemella. With the Visigoths it was episcopal headquarters, the Muslims gave it the name of Martos, being at this time an important military fortress. After the Christian conquest it became the capital of the Order of Calatrava in Alto Guadalquivir. His special physical configuration and complex historical legacy give him an appeal and a singularity that have led him to the recognition of the Historical Set as Good of Cultural Interest.
At 10: 00, reception of the group in the Plaza de la Fuente de la Villa.
From 10: 00 to 12: 30, breakfast, to be brought by the student, in the City Hall Square and guided tour to the historic city centre, including the Church of Santa Marta, the Sanctuary of the Virgin of the Villa and the tower of tribute of the Castle of the Villa, today converted into an Interpretation Center.

The school children will receive the teaching book "Cultural visit to Martos," carried out by the City of Martos.
Martos offers us a unique enclave and a unique image: the legendary Peña, the house settled on its hillsides, forming a beautiful set of white houses, spilled on successive steps looking for the plain, and all of it wrapped by the wealth and magnitude of the olive tree.
One visit to meet all these cities. The Ibero-Roman city has as its colophone the great Sculptural Set of White Cerrillo, unique in its genre and quality. The Roman fortification was reused in medieval times. The Spanish-Muslim culture built one of the most important fortifications in the environment. After the take of the city by Fernando III El Santo, about 1242, this is the surrender to the Order of Calatrava, then being built a Palacial Set of unique architectural beauty whose culmination is the New Tower, built in the early 15th century and where about 1488 Boabdil El Chico, the last Granadino king, was imprisoned for a few months.
The New Tower or Boabdil is the Municipal Archaeological Museum of Obvlco.
The work of the stone in the city reaches beautiful pictures in its urban fabric and in the different monuments. The entity of the Archaeological Conjuntas of the term and city has made it named Good of Cultural Interest, with the typology of Archaeological Zone (BOJA of 26 July 2013).

The monumental set of theFortaleza de la Mota de Alcalá la Real, is located in a magical enclave at 1,033 meters above sea level. This monumental space was the key, guard and defense of the Christian kingdoms and is now the old fortified city of Alcalá la Real, a place inhabited since prehistory, which was the border square of the Nazari kingdom and later the headquarters of the Christian troops. In the Fortaleza de la Mota is discovered the Alcazaba and the Church Mayor Abacial, which together with a network of streets, neighborhoods, palaces and wineries, dominate the monumental and archaeological enclosure of one of the most emblematic monumental assemblies of Andalusia.
