A unique experience where knowing how the force of water has shaped the landscape and history of this region for millions of years. Following the route of the Guadalquivir River, visitors are immersed in a natural environment of limestone rocks that, like a sugar terron, have been dissolved by water to form cannons, caves and travertines, which offer a spectacular landscape. The Cascade of Linarejos, with its imposing fall, and the trails that allow aerial views of the canyon, stand out as jewels of this route. In the past, this environment played a crucial role in the local economy. The travertine limestones and extensive pine trees were used for construction and wood industry, developed in places like Vadillo-Castril, where a hydroelectric dam supported production. Although these activities ceased, the river continues to be a source of wealth through sustainable tourism and barranquism, which attracts visitors to enjoy its fast and waterfalls. This route invites not only to explore natural beauty, but also to reflect on the relationship between water and human development, promoting respect for the environment and its resources. Discover Cazorla, a city that unites nature and heritage in an unforgettable experience. The day begins by exploring the Cerrada del Río Cerezuelo, a fascinating path between waterfalls, walkways and lush vegetation, located in the heart of the Natural Park of the Sierras de Cazorla, Segura and Las Villas, the largest protected space in Spain. In addition to the Cerrada del Río Cerezuelo, you will also have the option to make other routes such as the Pico Giillo path, the Five Esquinas path, or the path that passes through the well-known GR 247 Southern Forests in its stage 11. After the immersion into nature, go into the historic city centre. Walk its charming steep streets, look at the ruins of the majestic Church of Santa María and the vault over the Cerezuelo River during a guided tour, or visit the Castle of the Yedra, a medieval icon that offers spectacular views of the valley and preserves local history in its museum. Complete your experience with a taste of traditional cuisine in a local restaurant. Enjoy dishes such as crumbs, andrajos or mountain meat, accompanied by the famous olive oil of the region. (*) Guided visit to the Ruins of the Church of Santa Maria and the vault of the Cerezuelo River.
