Descripción larga

Become the sixth generation of craftsmen of the spartum of his family, Peter is a complete connoisseur of the history of this trade and of the changes he has suffered over the years. He works with the spartum of Sierra Mágina making the famous 11th century Ubeda carpets, typical of the Ubeda area and whose manufacture his grandfather rescued after many years in oblivion. In addition, Pedro recovers other products and the artisanal manufacture of them to work this vegetable fiber by hand, being its production completely organic; Bags, jewelry items, pamelas, leftovers, blinds, baskets and other objects for decorative use such as the animals made in pita and in real size.

For his creations he uses raw spartum, crushed spartum, as well as other materials and techniques such as pita / sisal, jute, rafia or wool, which allows him to customize to the maximum both the items we find in his shop and those pieces he makes on request. An old trade that has been able to reconvert it into a very visible place on the national scene, getting great awards and awards like that of Richard H. Driehaus, Construction Arts Awards in the category Finished and other Traditional Construction Works. Pedro Antonio Blanco has also been present at the Cibeles 2018 and Fashion Week parades in Paris in 1919 by the jiennese designer Leandro Cano and his collection of clothes and accessories made of vegetable fiber.
