Two pilgrimages, with a solemn Eucharist and procession at 11 in the morning, are held in honour of Nuestra Sra. de la Fuensanta Coronada at her Sanctuary. 

• On 8 September, the feast of the Birth of the Virgin, together with a preceding triduum, as the main festival of the town that guards her image, Villanueva del Arzobispo. 
• From the 7th to the 11th of this month are the town's main festival days. On the mornings of the 7th and 8th, a traditional pilgrimage and procession are held around the Sanctuary. From the evening of the 8th onwards, the festival programme moves to Avenida de La Paz and the San Blas Municipal Park, with bullfighting shows, concerts, a fair, and a great many activities enlivening these days, culminating on the 11th with a fireworks display. 

Gathered round the bonfire, a night of memories, singing, group dancing...

The feast of Corpus Christi is one of the most widespread and diverse expressions of festive ritual in Andalusia; however, each town expresses in its own particular way the arrangement of processional retinues and landmarks, and the decoration of the various elements involved in the ceremony.

This festive ritual in the municipalities of Villacarrillo and Villardompardo has developed as a response to the surrounding environment, in interaction with nature and local history, standing out for its age and for the high degree of community involvement. This neighbourly collaboration is expressed both in the preparations and throughout the day of celebration, and fosters cohesion, integration and unity within these communities.

Particularly noteworthy is the dedication and effort shown by residents of both municipalities in decorating their streets and creating their distinctive carpets and altars. This is a collective effort based on an organisational system in which the entire population takes part, regardless of gender or age.

In both cases, the motifs chosen for the decoration of the carpets, altars and hangings are Eucharistic in theme and are agreed upon among the residents of each street. Marquetry or iron moulds, among others, may be used for the designs. The hangings or aerial decorations can be made using various types of fabric — in the style of canopies — as well as card or paper. Imaginative carpets and ephemeral altars are created, along with plant-based street decorations using sedges, ferns, rosemary, branches, flowers, palm leaves and more. "Old", everyday household items are brought out of storage, such as plates, jugs and pitchers, and pots placed on wrought-iron stands.

Equally notable is the ingenuity with which the people of Villacarrillo and Villardompardo create the carpets and altars set up along the route taken by the processional retinue. This collective creativity has become one of the main features distinguishing the Corpus Christi festival in each of these towns from that of other Andalusian localities.

This is an ephemeral art form that innovates with each edition, using all kinds of recycled, plant-based and everyday materials, which, after long hours of work, are given an original religious meaning.

The level of community organisation is very similar in both municipalities, but in the case of Villacarrillo, the setting changes every year. The procession follows a different route each time, although the starting point remains constant, and the route always ends at the Parish Church of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción, while the streets and squares near the church chosen for the occasion are decorated with the numerous altars set up both by residents and by the local brotherhoods.

The Villacarrillo Fair has grown considerably in recent years, becoming one of the most important in the province of Jaén. This celebration has its origins in the medieval trade and livestock fair, which allowed residents to exchange goods, and it was Ferdinand VII who gave it official status. It is held in honour of the patron saints, the Santísimo Cristo de la Vera Cruz and Nuestra Señora del Rosario, from 9 to 16 September, although the first main day of the fair is the 14th. One of the Fair and Festival's main attractions, and the most renowned part of the programme, are the bullfighting events. Especially the traditional Bull Runs, held on 9, 10, 11 and 12 September from 9:30 am. These bull runs, dating back to the 18th century, are extremely popular in the province. Its bullring, opened in 1955, has seen — and continues to see — the top names in bullfighting pass through, and enjoys great prestige at national level.

San Sebastián, patron saint of Vilches, is celebrated on 20 January. Here in Vilches, it is not among the most popular festivals. A procession is held, setting out from the Hermitage of San Sebastián, located on the slopes of the Cerro de La Virgen, passing through several streets of the old town, up to the Barrio del Cerrillo and back again to its charming chapel. Afterwards, in the Plaza Mayor, migas are made, and chorizo, morcilla and pork belly are grilled. 

On 24 and 25 July, this fair is held in the Barrio de La Estación, featuring popular open-air dances that draw large crowds. On the 25th, a procession sets out from the Church of Santiago Apóstol and passes through the main streets of this distinctive neighbourhood.

Held from 14 to 18 August. Patron saint of Vilches since 1784, and named honorary mayoress in 1971. Her title comes from having made Vilches her sanctuary.

The patron saint festivities are celebrated with open-air dances and bull runs. The religious events take place on 15 August on the Cerro de La Virgen.

The bull runs and amateur bullfights during the festivities are held on 16 and 17 August.

These festivities commemorate the declaration of Úbeda and Baeza as World Heritage Cities. For a few days, the town of Úbeda transforms to bring its history back to life, dressing up to serve as the stage for a series of activities recalling the splendour of 16th-century Úbeda: theatre and dance, exhibitions, concerts and period-style dinners...

 On the Sunday closest to 20 May, the Hermanos del Señor (four local residents who raise funds throughout the year to cover the cost of the celebration) organise the Fiesta de los Jornaleros, notable for its procession of the image of the Crucified Christ, adorned with ears of wheat and dark loaves of bread, recalling the collections once made to help farm labourers.

Devotion to Jesús de la Columna, patron saint of Torres, began when two strangers arrived in the town and lodged in an old, uninhabited house. After several days without seeing the visitors, residents entered the house and found a carved figure of Christ scourging himself, which they moved to the parish church for worship. In his honour, patron saint festivities are held around 21 September, notable for their lively night-time open-air dances.
