Between 19 and 21 January, festivities are held in honour of San Sebastián, patron saint of Quesada. On the 19th, the saint is brought from his hermitage into the town, so that the following day, three flag-bearers and the drummer, dressed in old-fashioned costume, perform five flag displays during the afternoon procession of the image. The day ends with the luminaria (bonfire) lit in front of the Town Hall door, where cured pork products and wine are enjoyed. The festivities close on the 21st, which differs from the previous day only in that the flags are danced three times.

The Town Hall organises sporting competitions and numerous cultural activities, one of the main attractions being the “release of young bulls”, which draws large numbers of visitors from neighbouring towns.

On this day, a curious pilgrimage is held in honour of San Gregorio, in which an image of the Christ Child is carried in procession, popularly known among the people of Pozo Alcón as the “Niño de la Bola”, together with a cross, to the spot known as “la Cruz de San Gregorio”, 1.5 km away, on the road leading to the La Bolera reservoir.

Legends passed down from generation to generation tell how an image of the Virgin appeared in a village the Arabs called Alhara, located about 4 kilometres from Porcuna. A hermitage was built there, and a famous pilgrimage has been held every year since the 15th century. It is held on the second Sunday of May, attended by the brotherhoods belonging to the confraternity from the towns of Arjona, Arjonilla, Escañuela and Lopera.

Held from 3 to 6 September. A festival honouring San Benito, who is said to have saved Porcuna and its people from a fierce storm on 4 September 1749. Ever since, devotion to this patron saint has run deep.

On 25 April, the festival is marked with the “Chiscos de San Marcos”, bonfires that for years used to be lit using discarded objects and furniture.

Its roots run so deep among the people of Pegalajar that, even after the Spanish Civil War, the masked festival continued to be celebrated.

On 17 January: in honour of the saint who protects animals. The tradition of lighting bonfires on the eve of the feast day continues.

The current custom is to bring children born and baptised the previous year to church for their presentation. The people of Peal bring offerings of the traditional rings and bread "palomitas", which are blessed and accompany the Virgen de la Encarnación. During the procession, instead of being decorated with flowers and candles, the image and its platform are adorned with the Candelaria rings.  

The festivities in honour of the patron saint are held twice a year: in the days around 25 March, and between 17 and 21 August, dates on which the Peal de Becerro fair is held, featuring numerous leisure and festive events, notably including the release of young bulls.
