Breve descripción

This tour takes place through an agribusiness space of flattened relief, representative of the great massif of Sierra Morena. We will see diverse landscapes in which the oak and many other indigenous plants maintain their ancestral dominion, along with others with introduced species; all of them are inhabited by a valuable fauna that regains its vigor every day.

The road will lead us to the hermitage of San José, and will show us historical vestiges of the complex colonization of these territories.

Breve descripción

This short walk of 0.70 km takes us to the Mirador del Coscojar through a very clear pine area.

The path is part of the recreational area of the Jabali, from where a forest track is taken in the south direction, parallel to the road A-6177.

The view of the Coscojar is on a curious aljibe built in granite, which resembles a castle. From it is seen in a 360º panorama, the Sanctuary of the Virgin of the Head and the pinars of its surroundings. It is not unusual to see from here large raptures in flight, such as the black vulture, leonate vulture and Iberian imperial eagle.

In a tentadero near the scum of mines that gives the name of the path, the path begins on which will accompany us, initially, a landscape of dehesa in which we will be surprised by a large granite vaults for the cattle. We will know about Mediterranean mountain stains, as well as repopulation pines and, also, mixed forest masses evolving into the indigenous forest. Types of vegetation that house a diverse fauna.

Perhaps the most attractive is its end, in the vicinity of La Lancha, a town created ex profeso for the residence of the workers in the construction of the nearby and impressive dam of the Jandula.

This path has two sections, one circular along which we will border the urban core of Baños de la Encina. And a second stretch, a ramal that gives us the opportunity to contemplate the Rumblar Embalse.

The path begins on the stone pillar next to the village house, built with part of the sandstone chairs that formed the old church of Santa María del Cueto. During your journey we will have the opportunity to know the formation of the saws that do not surround you, due to the classes of geomorphology that gives us the interpretation of this path.

This circular path runs along the plain of Holy Christ and provides the opportunity to contemplate the waters of the Rumblar reservoir, as it borders it in part of its journey. In addition to aloctone pine, jars and rosemary, among others, through this journey are known the so-called orchards in ravine such as that of Banderas, Tio Feo or Miguelico.

With this name, it is known to the enclosed and scalated garden that for irrigation makes use of the stream that runs similar to it or, in certain cases, it is helped from ingenias such as wells, nories or a minion or water mine.

The El Bronze trail also offers many alternative and complementary tours such as the one that brings the visitor closer to the Fortín de Migaldías, a control fortín of the territory linked to the mining of the basin during the Bronze Age.

Trail de los Cuatro Términos

Descripción larga

We started the march up for about 350 meters, by a sidewalk between jars, until we reached a firewall by which we will ascend for 150 meters more. We will then arrive at the base of a canchal, where we will find a hollow forest, made up of oak trees, alcornoques, complaints and madroños growing between loose rocks. We'll soon be going out to an enembral installed on the quartates. A few meters from here we already arrived at the Sellator's Hill.

We will then move on a forest track for about two and a half kilometres. In the first part of this section we will go through a dense darkness of oaks and complaints. We can even see a melojo oak bosquet growing on the Sealing hill at a higher height than the complaints. Then we will pass through a gardener, a cork plantation and a pasture, before reaching the base of the point.

Finally the path ascends through a path, between jars and alcornoques, at the foot of the top of the Puntal of the Four terms. From this point the panorama is impressive: towards the South, beyond the pinars of Mount Selladores- Contadero are extended the mountains and dehesas of the Natural Park Sierra de Andújar. In the distance we can see the reservoir of the Jandula and even the Sanctuary of the Virgin of the Head. To the east is the town of Centenillo (Baños de la Encina) and La Carolina, and to the north, beyond the division of provinces, is Sierra Madrona.

Breve descripción

The path leads to a hill or point where four municipal terms coincide: Andújar, Villanueva de la Reina, Baños de la Encina, from the province of Jaén and Mestanza, from Ciudad Real. This route runs along the pecuaria road called Cañada Real de la Plata, within the Selladores Contadero, owned by the Ministry of Agriculture and the Environment. This is a mountain-like tour that goes through very little-crossed areas, covered in an interesting natural vegetation.

Trail Control de la Cabrera-Santuario Virgen de la Cabeza

Submitted by brandcode_deweloper on

Descripción larga

We started the tour on the access to the New Place Mount through the Cabrera Control. We go down a track that first crosses a lush forest of alcornoques and oaks and then a dehesa from where the Jandula River and the Sanctuary are seen.

We continue to descend on the track until we reach a granite gate crossed by a steel cable, known as the "Spinarejo Cable," which we cross and follow, on the same track, 150 m to then take a narrower path that goes to the right. Let us ascend through the pine until we reach the pedestrian door of the Majadillas, where we will leave the New Place Mount.

After a few more meters, we will link with a forest track that for about 4.7 km, crosses the heights of Navalasno and La Navarra. In this section we will observe a typical landscape of the granitic sector of the natural park, in which there are alternating broquets of oak and juniper, dehesas and rocky florings.

After reaching the ruins of the Cortijo de Navalasno Viejo we will soon go back to Mount Place Nuevo through the pedestrian door of the Fucovert.

It is now beginning a descent through a sidewalk between oak and granite that will take us to the Arroyo de los Santos. A beautiful seasonal channel flanked by large-scale strawberries. We will then ascend through a sidewalk through an open pinar until we reach another pedestrian door and a granite road that leaves for a forest track that we will take to the left and continue for 1.4 Km until we reach the Marmolejo Brotherhood, within the Sanctuary Village.

Breve descripción

The itinerary described above includes a section of the GR48 stage that can only be done on foot, by bicycle or by horse and runs along the traditional road from Marmolejo to the Sanctuary, coinciding with the Cordel de Marmolejo and other pecuary routes. It is a long tour, but it allows you to discover lonely places of enormous beauty.

From the town of Marmolejo (Jaén), we take the road A-420 with direction to Cardeña (Córdoba), which goes to the spa of Marmolejo, next to the Guadalquivir River. In this place just after passing the Roman bridge we find a crossing, we must take to the right by the local race JV-5.001, for approximately 12 km (after walking the path La Centenera), we will take the detour to the left, by which the so-called Control of the Cabrera that gives access to the public mountain is accessed.

Breve descripción

This path begins in Cerro del Cabezo, being all its descending path.

The first stretch of this path runs along the margin of the stream of the Virgin between jars, acebuchs and some aromatic plants such as the cantbone and the rosemary. On the left of this descent, called Cuesta de los Caracolillos, there is a magnificent view of Cerro del Cabezo, on which stands the sanctuary of the Virgin of the Head and of all the southern hillside of this, known as the Solanas of the Virgin.

Around 1.7 km, you can reach the Old Way, from where you can see the Jandula River Valley as you pass through New Place. In addition, with a little luck, it can be seen, through the skies of the Sierra de Andújar Natural Park, the imperial eagle, the black vulture or the royal eagle, as on this area are often found.

From the viewpoint, the path goes on to have a more pronounced slope, and caution must be extreme. After the descent, the vegetation changes and there appears to the left a repopulation of pine piñonero, and on the right margin, to the front, a dehesa of burning. Through that dehesa we arrive to a Roman bridge that crosses the Jandula River, on whose shores there is a rich vegetation of strawberry, alyses and adelfas.

To take this path we will have to go to the northern part of the urban town of Andújar and from the cemetery take the Old Way or the San Amasio Way. The road is a track of land with good firm, up to the kilometer 1.9 where is the area known as Los Tubos, where the track is crossed by a huge tube of the Rumblar Canal.

In the area known as the "Tubos" is located the zero km of the route Camino Viejo - Cordel de los Molinos. From this point on the track through which we travel, it has worse firm, but it is passable by all-terrain vehicles for 900 meters more, until it reaches a rest area for the pilgrims and the sign of the beginning of the path. The starting signal is located next to a metal door that we will have to close to us to start the path on foot, on horse or by bicycle.

Breve descripción

The path runs along the Old Way to the Sanctuary, the route used by the rosemary to go from Andújar to The Sanctuary of Our Lady of the Head, for centuries. This rosemary is declared a party of national tourist interest.

We will enjoy beautiful panoramic views of the Sierra de Andújar Natural Park from the view of the Monument to the Pilgrim. A beautiful walk through a path full of history, culture and tradition in an incomparable framework.

The trail Los Cerrillos is part of the Old Way, used by the pilgrims to climb from Andújar to the Sanctuary of the Virgin of the Head. Part of the site known as Los Cerrillo and reaches the Hermitage of San Ginés, a traditional meeting point for pilgrims.

The path gently ascends from the countryside, crosses through areas of livestock pastures and goes into the Sierra, crossing mountains covered with oak trees, cantuesos and jaras. During the flowering season, in April and May, the landscape becomes especially attractive.

It is worth walking this path in order to see an interesting panorama of Andújar and the countryside of the Guadalquivir valley and to go through the intertwined paths excavated on the slate rocks by the continued passage of thousands of pilgrims: walkers, cyclists and riders

TRAIL OF THE CUEVA DE LOS MUÑECOS

Descripción larga

The path begins at the Centre for the Interpretation of the Historical and Cultural Heritage of the Natural Park of Despeñacolos (see on the map), which is reached by the road A-6,200 from the E-05 motorway, towards Aldeaquemada. The center has been built on an old aprisco at the foot of the hill of the Castle. On the contrary side of this run through the historic passage of Despeñapeas the highway of the South.

However, on this side where we find the intense traffic of the fast track seems far away. The visit to the centre is certainly recommended, as it provides information on the natural and cultural heritage of the environment and also of this path. Around the center we see places of great ecological significance. On the umbria slopes, facing north, we will see forest formations with tree leaves, like the whine, and shrubs like doves or madroños. On the other hand, in the solana, the mountain is dominated by cobblestones with little sodoscala, made up of pyruetans, jars, rosemary, etc.

The path consists of two sections of about five hundred meters each, starting both from the interpretation center. One goes up to the hill of the Castle - towards the west - and the other goes down to the cave of Los Muñecos, in a southwestern direction. Although the order to travel them is indifferent, as in any case we must return to the interpretation center, we will assume that we will first take the climb to the hill. The sinuous path that we will take goes through a relatively lush encore that disappears around the 920 meters. Then, until the top of the hill, at 961 m, we will see more naked rock than vegetation.

There are in the high remains of a possible Iberian village and a lookout towards the plateau with overwhelming views, with St. Helena to the south and the port of the Muradal to the Plateau. In front, the impressive pettic structure of Mount Los Organos and, under us, the highway that follows the itinerary that with great difficulty opened at the end of the 18th century, as an alternative to the road of Las Ventes (by Los Pedroches) and other itineraries in use between the ports of Cadiz and Sevilla - doors of Américo - and the capital of the kingdom.

After walking the way to the center of interpretation, we will head towards our second destination, the cave of Los Muñecos. We will descend on a soft slope by the skirt of the hill of the Castle, and in parallel to the electric slope, towards the road we arrived for, we will cross the lower part of the same oak that we have already met up to the hill, in which we will also see alcornoques and junips of great bearing.

In two hundred and fifty meters we will reach a point very close to the road, where we will change course to surround the cut we see on our right, in which environment we can distinguish maples of Montpellier and abundant cornicabra. We must be careful with some slopes and pozas of the numerous excavations around here, as we are in a rich area of archaeological deposits, with the cave of Los Muñecos as the center of them, where the path ends.

Breve descripción

The culture of the Iberians keeps many mysteries that may never be explained. Their beliefs are almost unknown, but no one is surprised that they had in these places one of their main places of worship, and even more so that the Romans would take on him to satisfy their gods.

It is recommended to wear safe drinking water and clothing and adequate footwear. Ensure the potability of the water from the sources. This path can be realized throughout the year. In summer, due to the special conditions of height, the insolation is very strong and requires important solar protection. Caution with the strong slopes of the last stretch and the pozas of archaeological excavations.
