It is an ancient monastery of Basil monks, Eremite, in the 15th century. After the disamortizations of the Enlightenment, in the 18th century, it became an Andalusian farmhouse and cortijo.

In the Sierra de Cazorla and next to the Altiplano of Granada, so the range of possibilities in terms of places of interest is wide and varied. It is a great contrast of landscapes: high mountain in the Summits of the Sierra del Pozo, water and bathing areas as in the reservoir of the Bolera, Cueva del Agua, Río Guadalanimín, Arroyo Guazaljanco, Castril with its river and reservoir, desert around the Valle del Río Guadiana Menor, stunning natural views in the Lirio, Peña de Quesada, the Escalón. Some of these destinations are 10 minutes away and all within half an hour. Other 1 hour destinations such as the monumental cities of Ubeda, Baeza and Jaén, Granada, Alhambra and Sierra Nevada, and the Archaeological remains in Orce and Galera.
