This medieval church, formerly under the title of Santa Maria de Gracia, has suffered several percans, the most serious of which the French troops have given in their flight after the defeat of Bailén. From 1825 a long period of works was started for its restoration.

Built between the 14th and 15th centuries and reformed in XVIII. It consists of a single central body and several side chapels. Two factories are distinguished: the 18th century section that is covered with a half-canyon vault, with fajon arches supported by a classic molding on crate pilasters.

The first denomination of this temple was that of Santa Maria de Iznatoraf, whose existence is already documentary evidence at the beginning of the xiv century, specifically in 1311. It is very likely that this ancient church is the largest mosque of the Muslim medina that was sacraalized after the conquest of Bishop Rodrigo Jiménez of Rada together with Fernando III El Santo. In the 11th century the present church was erected whose works began in 1583 and ended in 1591, with small additions that were completed in 1602. He is in front of the Alonso Barba factory, disciple of Andrés de Vandelvira. It was used in its construction white stone brought from neighbouring Sorihuela del Guadalimar and pine wood from the Segura saw, contributing to the construction of Philip II.

Restored in 1966. The façade is located at the foot of the temple, finished in a hastial with small circular window entangled, and retains a simple cover with a half-point arch on a chair jambas.The bell towerIt corresponds to the tower of homage of the old castle.

In the steep "Cuesta de las Monjas," Ramón y Cajal street, Villacarillo is located the church of Santa Isabel de los Angeles. The building attached to the temple was a closing convent until 1737, a public prison during the French occupation and, from 1884, a hospital to which the services of the former San Lorenzo Hospital were transferred. Today it houses several municipal units.

The most notable building in Hinojares is the parish church of San Marcos, built in the late 17th century, which has outside walls with few and reduced gaps, whether circular or rectangular, and a side access door without any ornament.

The church of San Andrés de Villanueva del Archbishop is located in the historical center of this town of the province of Jaén. The present temple, dating back to the 16th century, was erected on a previous one that had to occupy the courtyard of weapons of the medieval fortress, of which still today two of the four original towers are preserved, attached to the temple factory. This building ensemble perfectly synthesizes military and religious architecture.

Its plant is rectangular and one-ship, divided into four sections covering half-barrel vaults with pseudo-fajon arches. Thesquare base headerwas added in the 17th century.The towerbuilt in the 20th century, it is the least valuable and is not integrated into the whole.

This church was raised in the mid-sixties of the 20th century over another previous temple, with the same advocation, whose origin went back to the seventeenth century. Its cover features a vain intellized access, Latin cross and hastial, and it stands out for its volume the tower, with a square base, decorated with geometrical elements.
