The Union Cooperative Society of Ubeda was founded in 1931, thanks to the initiative of 59 partners. It was the first agricultural cooperative in Ubeda and Jaén province. The main social object was the grinding of the olive of its partners and the subsequent storage and marketing of oil on their behalf. The original machinery dates from 1931 and was acquired in the foundry of Herederos de Fuentes S. L
At present, society has committed to quality and product differentiation with organic and early-harvest oils. The DCOOP Master Awards for early production awarded in the 2019-2020, 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 campaigns, as well as the group's best ecological oil awards received in the 2017-2018, 2019-2020, 2020-2021 and 2022-2023 campaigns and the 2021-2022 campaign for the best deposit of the entire DCOOP group, show that Ubeda SCA Union has taken a new path of success and prosperity for its partners and customers.
The Cooperativa organizes guided tours by the olive mill where the whole process of olive oil is explained, from the collection and treatment of the fruit in the olive groves of the area to its molding, storage and packaging. The two-hour tour of the olive oil culture and ends with an introduction into the tasting of the olive oils extra virgins of the cooperative itself
Union of Ubeda has continued to be heavily seized by the oleoturism and in 2022 opened the OleoUnion Museum Hall, a space dedicated to the dissemination of the culture of the Extra Virgin Olive Oil and where to enjoy the different experiences we have: audiovisual projection, oil tasting, miller breakfast, guided visit to the olive farm, etc.
