The source of the scribe has a very low flow rate, approximately between 0-1 l / s, although it is rarely exhausted. The use of water from this spring is now rural and livestock. Today the water of the spring is used very little, but in the past century, it was a source very frequented by the arjonilleros, using a part of it as a forklift for the cavalry and the rest of cattle, and another part for human supply. At the source the arjonilleros collected water, in pitchers and flyers, which they used for their domestic use, to refresh in the agricultural work...
There is no doubt that the picture presented by the source of the scribe earlier, according to the testimonies that come to us from the mouth of the older, must be bewildered. Men and women with the pitcher at their expense, or donkeys and carrying animals that were carrying in the serons the pitchers and flyers.

The sources have a precious urban, architectural or symbolic value not only in public spaces. They also have it in private spaces, such as the stone source of Mateo de Inurria, dated 1851, which is preserved in the house of Federico Bayona and Teresa Fernández. Although small (one and a half meters), its proportionality and sensuality of forms, its vistosity and symmetry, give it a remarkable monumental packaging.
It dates back to the late 18th century, although its construction date is not well known. It's made of masonry and landscape structure. It is made up of a frontis with two half-point arches and a triangular fronton that in its center hosts a shield of the Bourbons.

The set composed of the Fuente de la Reja, la Charca and la Huerta de Pegalajar is an essential part of the historical-cultural-economic heritage of Pegalajar, as recognized by its declaration as a place of ethnic interest made by the Council of Culture of the Junta de Andalucía.
Its forms are defined through a cubic volumetric, perfectly mitigated by the provision of two twin spaces with three hollow stylized arches covered by small half-point arches that emphasize so many other jets of water and which, in turn, are separated by an arched hole of greater dimensions, more left in the structure of the building, which further enhances the symmetry perspective from the church. Inside, in a glass-covered garden, made in the second half of the 20th century by María Isabel Sánchez Bonilla, a small image of the Virgin, about 8 meters high and classical iconography, is sold between stones and crystalline waters that reinforce the mystical character.
In a straight line with the side cover of the parish church, as it marks an axis of intimate communion, is the source of the Black, as is usually named. Its popular significance is well above the value of its architectural semantics. Its community heritage is underlined by the fact that its current configuration was chosen by popular vote after submitting several models to the consideration of the neighborhood.
